It's hard to believe it's been an entire year since this captivating couple tied the knot in our stunning Rose Garden, and followed it up by dancing the night away in our Marquee.

We asked Kristina & Joey to tell us more about their epic wedding day so we could relive it all over again...

Tell us how you met...

We met as teenagers, through friends but it wasn't until our late 20's that we started dating!

When did you know you found the one...?

A few short weeks after our first date!

Tell us about the proposal...

Joey booked us a degustation at Hentley Farm and a night stay at The Louise. After lunch, we got back to our room and flowers and sparkling had been set up. Joey proposed to me in the courtyard, overlooking the vineyard. It was beautiful!

From Proposal to The Big Day...

18 months! We planned for 15 months, but a COVID postponement [interfered]. In general, the overall planning process was not too bad. There was a LOT to do and it was difficult to keep costs down.

Tell us about your vendors...who did you book first?

Sunnybrae Estate because we had a large guest list and that meant we were limited with venues that we were interested in.

Most important deciding factor when selecting your venue...?

Good food!!

Talk us through your style inspiration...

We love the outdoors, so the colours of nature inspired us (neutrals, woods and

greens) but also the beauty of colourful flowers. (Kristina & Joey's florist was MJ Floral & Events. Full list of vendors below)

Tell us about your ceremony - what made it unique...?

For us, it's untraditional to not be married in a church. We really wanted an outdoor ceremony and for it to feel intimate and personal but still with some family traditions.

Walk us through your dress/suit selections...

For my wedding dress, I visited a few designers until I felt really comfortable, and that was with GretaKate! For the bridal party, we also wanted them to feel comfortable. For Joey's suit, he wanted to feel special and had a custom suit made by Oscar Hunt.

Your favourite moment...

Our favourite moment was the ceremony, saying "I do", being surrounded by the people we love, in the beautiful rose garden. It felt like a fairytale!

How was your Sunnybrae experience...?

The communication was fantastic. Jimmy and Amanda kept us in the loop at all times. Jimmy was understanding when we had to change our date due to COVID restrictions coming out 2 weeks before our original date. This made the date change far less stressful and we're really appreciative!

Your meaning of marriage...

Celebrating our love with our family and friends, and dedicating our lives to each other.

Would you change anything...?

Not really...we loved our wedding day!

What has the first year of marriage been like?

It has been both beautiful and challenging. Starting a life together takes compromise, which can always be difficult, however you have to learn not to sweat the small stuff and to keep the romance alive! Still try to woo each other...and make the effort to get dressed up and go on dates!

Any words of wisdom...?

Make a spreadsheet - honestly, technology makes everything easier. I also recommend website RSVPs and remember; the day is about the two of you!
